Arrow of Light Den - Fifth Grade

FIFTH GRADE: Ages 10-11

DEN LEADERS: Darigg Brown and Chloe Cook

MEETINGS: 2nd and 4th Sundays   Time: 2:45 pm - 3:45 pm

LOCATION: Scout Hut at Kelley Cofer Park

Arrow of Light is for boys & girls going into 5th grade or between ages 10-11.

This year is a continuation of Webelos scouts to prepare to join a Scouts BSA Troop while learning outdoor skills. Once your Webelos has completed the 4 adventures and 1 elective adventure, they may work to earn the Arrow Of Light Award. A well-run group of Webelos is a gradual change from being an 'adult-run' den to being a 'scout-run' patrol, ready to fit right into an adventurous scouting troop.

First, all new scouts will work on earning the Bobcat patch. For the Bobcat rank, scouts will learn the basics of Cub Scouting.

To earn the Arrow of Light patch, your Scout will need to complete the 4 main adventures and 1 elective adventure, and Whittling Chip found in the Webelos Handbook. They will also need to watch a Protect Yourself video.

When your scout completes an adventure, they will get a pin at the next Pack Meeting to put on the Webelos ribbon.

As a den, we will work on 3 of the main adventures and 1 elective together.

The “Duty to God” adventure, Youth Protection booklet and Protect Yourself video is to be done at home as a family.

You can also help your scout earn adventures at home, please let the den leader or advancement chair know when you complete an adventure so it can be marked and awarded.
